Earlier this week, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) continued to push for disaster relief funding for North Carolina as it recovers from Hurricane Florence.

On Tuesday, Senator Tillis and his colleagues David Perdue, Doug Jones, Johnny Isakson and Rick Scott held a bipartisan press conference to highlight the critical need for Congress to pass disaster relief for states impacted by recent hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters.

He also spoke at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing Tuesday morning about the damage sustained at Camp Lejeune from Hurricane Florence and the need to provide funds for their recovery.

Senator Tillis and the North Carolina delegation secured an initial down payment last October to help North Carolina's long-term recovery efforts and have worked to negotiate in good faith on a new bipartisan disaster relief package to provide additional funding for North Carolina, as well as other states and territories hit by natural disasters.
