Schumer on Alito Hearings in January
Sen. Chuck Schumer, the ranking member of the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Courts, released the following statement on the announcement that hearings for Judge Samuel Alito for the position of Supreme Court Associate Justice will begin in January 2006:
"Once again Arlen Specter has created a fair schedule that gives us enough time to thoroughly examine the nominee and ample time for questioning at the hearing. There are many questions to answer about Judge Alito and this will give us adequate time to do so."
