U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today issued the following statement applauding President Trump for announcing the removal of the United States from the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT):
"I applaud President Trump for his announcement today finally and fully removing the United States from the Arms Trade Treaty. I have fought against the ATT for my entire tenure in the Senate, and last year I submitted an amendment to prohibit its implementation. I look forward to working with my colleagues and the administration in unwinding the U.S. from remaining constraints and treaties that seek to limit Americans' Second Amendment rights."
