Republican Study Committee Chairman Mike Johnson (R-La.) released the below statement following violent clashes in Venezuela where military vehicles, under the direction of Nicolás Maduro, plowed through crowds of civilians:

"The entire world is bearing witness to the atrocities in Venezuela and the true consequences of Socialism. The United States stands firmly behind Juan Guaidó and the Venezuelan people. Democracy and freedom will always win out against tyranny and oppression."
