This week, Congressman Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. joined his colleagues in passing H.R. 7, the bipartisan Paycheck Fairness Act.

"This week's passage of the Paycheck Fairness Act is an important step towards eliminating the wage gap between men and women and will close loopholes and strengthen the 1963 Equal Pay Act," said Rep. Cisneros. "Equal pay is not simply a women's issue, but a working family issue. When women bring home less money each day, it means they have less for the everyday needs of their families -- groceries, rent, child care, and doctors' visits. We need to do more to support women and families, and it's why I supported the Paycheck Fairness Act."
