Today, Congressman Biggs signed the discharge petition on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to force a vote on the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. Congressman Biggs issued the following statement:
"Democrats have rejected over two dozen Republican pleas to bring up this pro-life bill for a vote. Today, Republicans stand for babies who are born alive. I am privileged to join Whip Steve Scalise and Congresswoman Ann Wagner in their efforts to protect all life. I hope reasonable Democrats will join us to demand an up-or-down vote on this vital piece of legislation.
"I have always prioritized life issues throughout my entire tenure in public service. However, this bill isn't just about the unborn; it's about babies who have survived abortions, who are fighting to survive. These babies deserve protection from their government to ensure that they grow up to realize their God-given potentials. The tide is turning in this country, and I pray that, under President Trump's leadership, we continue to celebrate more pro-life victories."
