Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) released the following statement after a joint session of the United States Congress welcomed Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Secretary General Stoltenberg delivered an address in the House chamber today.

"This year marks seven decades of our Transatlantic alliance and friendship as part of NATO. On this special 70th anniversary year, it was an honor to hear from NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg as we reflect on the historical and lasting partnership. Certainly, the alliance remains a vital component to defending freedom and ultimately ensuring a safer and more peaceful world."
