SENATOR LISA MURKOWSKI COMMENTS ON THE NOMINATION OF JUDGE SAMUEL ALITO JR. TO BE AN ASSOCIATE JUSTICE OF THE SUPREME COURT

This morning, Sen. Lisa Murkowski issued the following statement regarding President Bush's nomination of Judge Samuel Alito Jr. to be the next Associate Justice of the Supreme Court:

"As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, an Assistant Solicitor General arguing cases before the Supreme Court, to his fifteen years on the bench, Judge Samuel Alito has an extensive and impressive legal resume. I intend to carefully review Judge Alito's credentials and I look forward to a fair confirmation process."
