Congresswoman Beatty Blasts Trump Budget FY2020 Request

President Donald Trump released his Fiscal Year 2020 Budget Request today that seeks to slash discretionary spending by $54 billion. Reacting to the proposal, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) said:

"President Trump's budget request turns it back on the needs of the middle-class, hardworking families, and our most vulnerable Americans. Instead of investing in Medicare and Medicaid, affordable housing, workforce development, education, and a whole host of other programs, his $4.7 trillion proposal does the exact opposite. Worse still, the president's budget will explode the national deficit and has absolutely no chance of passing the House and Senate. That is why I urge Republicans and Democrats to begin working immediately on crafting a bipartisan agreement that invests in the people and programs that have always made America great."
