Response to the Indictment of I. Lewis Libby, Senior Advisor to the Vice President and President

Congresswoman McCollum issued the following statement following the criminal indictment of Vice President Cheney's Chief of Staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby for the leak of C.I.A. agent Valerie Plame's identity:

"It is a sad day when we learn that a senior advisor to the Vice President and President may have compromised our national security for political gain. Now this matter is for the courts," said Congresswoman McCollum.
