The following is a statement from Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) following the passage of H.R. 8 and H.R. 1112, which close gun safety loopholes:

"I'm proud to have voted to pass two important bipartisan bills through the House that will make our communities safer. These bills will ensure universal background checks and close the same loophole that helped lead to the tragic Charleston shooting in 2015.

I came to Congress to get things done for my district, and this is a great example of how Democrats and Republicans can work together to help deliver for the American people."
