The following is a statement from Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) following the passage of H.J.Res. 31, which funds the government and avoids a government shutdown:
"This should be the last time we ever vote to avoid a shutdown at the 11th hour. We should always be able to come together, as Democrats and Republicans, and work out our differences to find common ground and get the job done for the American people. I hope this is a new day for our Congress. From here, we must move forward and work together to lower prescription drug costs, clean up corporate influence in our government, support our military and empower our small businesses. This is what I came to Congress to do and I will work hard to deliver on that promise."
