Statement On U.S. Department Of Energy's Secret Plutonium Shipment

Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) released the following statement in response to news that the U.S. Department of Energy secretly transported half a metric ton of plutonium to Nevada prior to November 2018.

"It's egregious that the Department of Energy took the action to transport hazardous material to Nevada. Our state is not a dumping ground for the nation's hazardous waste, and we have no intention of letting it become one. I join Governor Sisolak and the rest of Nevada's Congressional delegation in taking the necessary actions to hold the Department of Energy and anyone else accountable for threatening the lives of Nevada families."
