U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement expressing his disappointment with his Democratic colleagues for voting to continue the government shutdown:

"I want this shutdown to end. The only way that happens is through a compromise in which both sides make concessions. I hope Speaker Pelosi will change her mind and sit down and negotiate with the White House."
