Congressman John Carter released the following statement after President Donald Trump signed a continuing resolution to reopen the government for ongoing negotiations.
"I'm glad to see this shutdown end and federal employees be paid. I know it's been very difficult for those who have worked without receiving a paycheck throughout this shutdown. Now that the government is reopened, I hope that Speaker Pelosi will negotiate in good faith to address the very serious situation on the border. The American people expect the federal government to address border security, and I hope this conference can come to an agreement by February 15th."
