Statement on President Trump's announcement to reopen government

Congressman Tim Burchett (R-TN) released the following statement after President Trump's announcement to reopen the government:

"I'm happy that President Trump and leaders from both parties were able to negotiate an agreement to re-open the government. Hardworking folks have gone weeks without a paycheck and they deserve one immediately. While this continuing resolution solves the issue temporarily, we need a long-term solution that stays committed to solving the border crisis and finding a way to strengthen border security. During the time between this short-term fix and its expiration, we must find a way to meaningfully address these issues."
