As First Item of Business, Jason Crow Works to End Shutdown; Votes Yes on Bipartisan Package that Would Reopen the Government

Statement

Date: Jan. 4, 2019

Below please find a statement from Rep. Jason Crow following his vote to end the government shutdown.

"This shutdown is unnecessary and reckless and Congress has a responsibility to resolve it ASAP. It's why I supported a bipartisan bill that would allow all 20,000 Coloradans furloughed or working without pay to return to work.

"As a former Army Ranger, I take our national security seriously and support funding border security - all of which this bill does. What I don't support is a cheap election gambit by President Trump to fund an ineffective and immoral wall.

"I encourage my colleagues in the Senate to pass this bill without hesitation and end these political games."
