Kinzinger, Boyle Urge President to Reconsider Syria Withdrawal

Yesterday, Congressmen Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) and Brendan Boyle (D-PA) sent a joint letter to the President urging him to reconsider the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria. As co-chairs of the Friends of a Free, Stable, and Democratic Syria Caucus in the House, both Kinzinger and Boyle feel strongly about our role in Syria and the Middle East, and have deep concerns over the decision to immediately abandon our efforts and our allies in the region.

"We have the greatest military in the world, and we all want to bring our troops home, but we must not do so prematurely." … "Removing American troops from the region so hastily will have broad, and grave, implications beyond the fight we face against ISIS. We will be ceding territory and the efforts by our brave men and women in uniform, allowing rogue regimes take over. We cannot and must not allow that to happen. Our men and women volunteer to serve this country, and do so knowing the risks of their service.
