Levin Statement on Votes to End Trump's Government Shutdown

Statement

Date: Jan. 3, 2019
Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Representative Mike Levin (D-CA) released the following statement on his votes to pass legislation - which Republicans recently supported - to provide funding for border security and end President Trump's partial government shutdown:

"Funding the federal government is one of the most basic responsibilities of the U.S. House of Representatives, and I was proud to vote for bipartisan legislation to do that. President Trump's decision to shut the government down over his ineffective and immoral border wall is shameful and has forced over 800,000 federal employees to wonder when they will receive their next pay check. I strongly urge him to stop holding the federal government hostage and accept the legislation we passed today."
