Representative Cisneros Sworn Into Office

Statement

U.S. Representative Gilbert Cisneros was sworn in as a Member of the United States House of Representatives by the House Speaker on January 3rd, 2019. He released the following statement:

"The road to this week was long and challenging, but also rewarding. I set out to represent the 39th District because of an obligation to serve my community and our country. I'm privileged to now be in a position to be a voice for our values and give the people of our district the representation they deserve.

"I promise to fight for protections for those with pre-existing conditions, common-sense gun legislation, humane immigration reform, clean campaign finance reform, and infrastructure investments for our roads, highways, businesses, and schools. I am incredibly honored to be the representative for our 39th District, but also feel a deep obligation to put in the hard work that's necessary to be a responsive, dedicated, and responsible Member of Congress."

The Honorable Gilbert Cisneros was elected to serve as representative of California's 39th Congressional District. Representative Gilbert Cisneros was added to the rolls of the House upon executing the oath of office.
