Today, Congressman Jimmy Panetta (CA-20) released the following statement on the passing of President George H.W. Bush:


"I join our country in mourning the passing of President George H.W. Bush. He was a true public servant who dedicated his life to make ours a "kinder, gentler nation.' From his time as a Naval Aviator to Director of the CIA to his Presidency, he was led by his moral character, integrity, and common sense. I offer my deepest sympathies to his children and extended family, but hope that they find comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his beloved Barbara."
