Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) today issued the following statement in response to the passing of the 41st President of the United States, George H.W. Bush:
"Today, we mourn the loss of the 41st U.S. President, a father, a patriot, and a fellow Texan. As a public servant and a decorated service member, President Bush, Sr. set a high bar for decency and civility. This morning my thoughts are with the president's family as they remember their father and grandfather, and also with the American people as they celebrate the life of a statesman. May he soon reunite with his friends; loved ones; and his beloved wife, Barbara."
