Schumer on Plame Leak Investigation 'Background Noise'
Today Sen. Chuck Schumer released the following statement in response to President Bush's characterization that the Plame and other investigations into potential wrongdoing at the White House was 'background noise':
"While it seems that the White House dismisses serious national security leaks as 'background noise,' there is nothing trivial about the investigation into the leaking of a CIA operative's identity. Part of the President's job is to make sure his staff obeys the laws and he should make sure that anyone indicted in this dastardly outing of a covert operative is immediately dismissed from the White House."
