House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) today released the following statement after Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL) was approved by the House Republican Conference to serve as Ranking Member of the House Homeland Security Committee for the 116th Congress.

Chairman McCaul: "My colleagues on the Homeland Security Committee and I want to give our sincerest congratulations to Congressman Mike Rogers, who will serve this important Committee next Congress as the Ranking Member. Since coming to Congress, Mike has been a tireless advocate for the security of the American people. On issues like border security, aviation security and more, Mike worked to pass crucial legislation to better secure our homeland and to better protect Americans from a variety of dynamic threats.
