Issue Position

As head of the Community Prosecution Unit in Prince George's County, I worked with the police, community members, churches, local businesses and others to reduce crime. Using our shared resources, we identified crime problems in some of the areas toughest neighborhoods. This team then worked proactively to reduce crime by prosecuting the worst offenders, shutting down drug houses and finding ways to make the area safer. Sometimes this involved increased police patrols or putting up a fence to keep out criminals.
