As the former Sheriff of Adair County, and a small business owner, I'm quite experienced in having to work within a tight budget. We cannot always have what we want, and sometimes we have to forgo comfort items in order to pay the bills. I believe this is true for State government as well. Its time to investigate, stop, and get control of the State's wasteful spending habits and regain control of our finances.
Oklahomans work hard for every penny they make, and it is shameful for our State government to keep asking for even more of our hard-earned money when they have not demonstrated the self-control to manage what they have already required of us to give.
It's time legislators stop "talking" about cutting out unnecessary spending, it's time to actually start using the scissors and making necessary cuts while protecting the things that are important to the people in the communities.
