There is no reason for the economic development announcements we read about to be passing southeast Georgia. While Georgia has become the No. 1 state in the nation to do business, I want to see our region become the No. 1 place in Georgia to do business. We must develop better partnerships between our local governments, and businesses and those in Atlanta. State government doesn't create jobs, but it does create an environment for job creation. My No. 1 priority in the State House will be to make sure District 180 is the beneficiary of that job creation in Georgia.
