Issue Position

Meet my grandfather Ray Lutz (my mothers father). His parents were immigrants from Germany that homesteaded in Isabel SD. There they endured the dust bowl, the depression, and ultimately, WW2. Grandpa enlisted with the United States Air Force and Served in the Philippine Islands. He was there at the end of the war and would tell me stories about what it was like to be a soldier back then. When he came home, he met and married my Grandma and became the Post Master in Glenham, SD. My Grandpa is no longer with us but I was, and still am, very proud of my grandfather, as I am with all of our service men and women. I have many friends and relatives that have or are currently still serving. Some were lucky to come back unscathed. Others, suffered serious injuries that they are still living with today. These brave men and women fought or are still fighting to protect our liberties, to provide us with comfortable lifestyles, and frankly, to ensure that we as individuals can continue to live the way that we do. Most have signed up because of their sense of patriotism and civic duty, and many of them signed up with a promise from their government that they would be taken care of. As your Representative, I will keep that promise and work hard to ensure that we take care of them. Our service men and women are the cream of our crop, the best of the best of us, and it's time that we as a nation, we as a state, and we as individuals say..."THANK YOU!"
