My governing philosophy is rooted in the belief that Constitutional rights come from God and not government, and I will do all in my power to protect the liberty He gave us. Too often we see massive over-reach, out of control spending, and unconstitutional ordinances passed by governmental bodies. As a member of the Texas House of Representatives, my commitment will be to expand freedom, not government. Texas is blessed with a great economy, but our economy will only remain strong if we keep regulation at a minimum and make it easier for workers to begin businesses and achieve the American (and Texan) dream. There are some who have an agenda to push bigger government on the private sector, but we must be vigilant to protect the vibrant economic growth we have come to enjoy, especially here in Collin County. Texas has created, in most cases, an environment that is business friendly and allows the marketplace to flourish with a light touch approach of low taxes, eliminating lawsuit abuse, and a regulatory system that is predictable and fair. Good government keeps its citizens free from those that would do them harm or take harmful advantage of the vulnerable, while allowing for growth in ideas, marketplace, and innovation. Good government gets out of the way and lets the free market do its work. A good, thriving, free market will elevate all those who are in the market, including those that are unemployed and underemployed.
