Congressman Krishnamoorthi On Mail Bombs To CNN And Public Figures: "Our Opposition To Political Violence Is A Fundamental Tenet Of Our Democracy"

Statement

Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi released the following statement in the wake of news that explosive devices were sent to a number of locations including homes of former Presidents Obama and Clinton, George Soros, and the New York City Bureau of CNN:

"These despicable acts of violence towards prominent public figures and the media are deeply disturbing and cannot be condemned strongly enough. Our country is divided on a range of issues, but our opposition to political violence is a fundamental tenet of our democracy. This is a time for our country to come together and have productive debates over our disagreements while joining together to unequivocally reject political violence and terrorism."
