Issa Statement on Shooting at Pittsburgh Synagogue

Statement

Date: Oct. 29, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

The senseless killing in a synagogue on Saturday represents both an unimaginable tragedy and unfathomable loss of life. Two days have only reinforced the pain we feel as a nation.

But it is also something else: a reminder that virulent anti-Semitism--one of history's oldest hatreds--is still with us. We must not look away.

This is when we must come together in grief, join in resolve, and ensure that we comfort and support our fellow citizens in their time of sadness. They deserve nothing less. We must continue to keep the victims and their families in our thoughts, pray for their comfort, and let them know we are with them.
