Where Gil Cisneros Stands and Young Kim's "No Comments'

Press Release

Yesterday, the Los Angeles Times published a comparison of the two congressional candidates in California's 39th District on the top issues of the district, including healthcare, taxes, immigration, and gun legislation. While Gil Cisneros provided thoughtful, nuanced positions, Young Kim has refused to publicly address the issues. On the one issue Kim was able to muster a stance, she lied about her refusal to call out family separation until the day after the policy was rescinded, her questioning of whether it was even happening, and her anti-immigration votes in the California legislature.

"Young Kim can claim to be running as her own person, but just like her inability to distance herself from President Trump, it's all empty rhetoric," said Nic Jordan, Campaign Manager for Gil Cisneros's campaign. "And Kim's few comments on immigration reform are only an effort to distract from her anti-DREAMer votes and her inability to call out the President's "zero-tolerance' policy until the day after it was rescinded. While Kim has avoided any and all public appearances and forums in an effort to hide her out-of-touch views, Gil Cisneros has made it clear where he stands and how his values reflect the people and communities of his district."
