Issue Position

Michael believes that the economic success of a community is dependent on the quality of education it provides to students. A graduate of Poland Seminary High School and Emerson College, he knows that success is only possible with an educational system that is 100% committed to student success.
Michael's passion for education is what led him to be elected to the Leetonia School Board where, as its president, he led the district through a staggering financial crisis.
Michael also serves his community as a member of the Leetonia School Board. During his term as school board president, he led the district through a financial crisis and worked tirelessly to remove a levy from the ballot, something unheard of in the government world. Today, Leetonia Schools have risen to the Top 100 in the state in providing "value added" to its students.
His education plan includes greater communication and cooperation between families and the schools and making districts fiscally responsible with improved test scores.
