Demanded an audit of the California DMV's REAL ID Implementation Plan following troubling reports of possible cost overruns and long wait times for constituents.

Supported an audit of the UC Board of Regents following reports that the UC President spent lavishly on a taxpayer funded condo, travel and funneling $174 million to a secret reserve fund.

Called for an audit of the California High Speed Rail Program to determine why projected costs have risen by over $33 billion and why the project is now NINE YEARS behind schedule.

Coauthored legislation for new oversight on questionable spending practices by the California Department of Transportation, which includes the hiring of a new independent transportation inspector, audits of major transportation projects, and dedicating a larger share of the agency's budget towards increasing road capacity (AB 496).
