Murphy, Colleagues Introduce Resolution Recognizing the 40 Th Anniversary of The First Delivery of The Sikorsky Uh-60 Black Hawk Helicopter to The Army

Today, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) and colleagues Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Bill Nelson (D-FL) introduced a Senate resolution that recognizes the 40th anniversary of the first delivery of the Sikorsky UH--60 Black Hawk helicopter to the Army. On October 31, 1978, the first production UH--60 Black Hawk helicopter was delivered to the U.S. Army. In the following four decades, Black Hawk Helicopters have flown nearly 10,000,000 flight hours, with more than 2,000,000 having been in combat. Today, more than 4,000 Black Hawk Helicopters of all models are in service worldwide in all branches of the Armed Forces and 28 other countries.

"For 40 years, the Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter has been flown by countless brave men and women to protect and defend our troops, save lives, and keep us safe in and out of combat. That's an amazing accomplishment, and I'm looking forward to continuing my support for Sikorsky and the Black Hawk for many years to come" said Murphy.
