Democratic nominee for Virginia's 7th Congressional District Abigail Spanberger released a new television ad today, featuring Goochland resident and mother Jody Cametas, a former Rep. Brat voter. In the new TV spot, Jody discusses her son's Type I diabetes diagnosis and how the lack of leadership in Washington has dramatically impacted her family.

"I feel betrayed by Dave Brat," Jody says in the ad. "He voted against protections for preexisting conditions for families like mine. I voted for Dave Brat once; I will not make that mistake again. I'm voting for Abigail Spanberger."

"I appreciate Jody's willingness to tell her family's story," Spanberger said. "As a parent, her story resonates deeply with me, and as a candidate for Congress, her story is one that drives me to fight for families like hers. I am an advocate for affordable, accessible healthcare, and I will always fight to keep protections for preexisting conditions."

The release of this ad follows historic fundraising numbers and several high-profile endorsements, including EMILY's List, End Citizens United, Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, Governor Ralph Northam, and Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax. A full list of endorsements can be found here. Abigail will face Republican Congressman Dave Brat in November.
