Following Big Win, We Must Work Hard Until Election Day

Issues: Elections

Last night was a political earthquake in Texas. Pete Flores won a special election in Texas Senate District 19, marking the first time a Republican has captured that seat since 1879. Flores is also the first Hispanic Republican ever elected to the Texas Senate.

This is great news for Republicans with less than 50 days until the general election. It gives us a strong jolt of energy and momentum, which is very important. But one of the most important takeaways is that we cannot take anything for granted -- we must work hard every day to turn out the vote.

My district overlaps with Senator-elect Flores and I was proud to campaign with him. Help build on our strong momentum for the Republican ticket with a donation of $21, $50, $100 or as much as you can right away.

Flores won in large part because Republicans knocked on more than 20,000 doors. That's astounding. It's also an important reminder that if we work hard every day, and not get complacent, we will win in November.

So I'm asking you now to commit to volunteer in a specific way between now and the election. Join our next Day of Action this Saturday, Sept. 22 in San Antonio if you can. You could also block walk, phone bank, join our online action team, or put out a yard sign in other parts of the district anytime.

We know what's at stake in this election. My opponent is a liberal Democrat running in a Republican-leaning district so he has to hide his views. But he'd be a reliable vote for government-run health care, gun control and open borders.

Please donate $21, $50, $100 or whatever you can right now to make sure we build on this momentum and stop any possible Democrat "blue wave."
