Sens. Cruz, Cornyn's Red River Gradient Boundary Survey Act Advances to Senate Floor

U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and John Cornyn's (R-Texas) Red River Gradient Boundary Survey Act was reported by the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources this week. The bill would authorize the necessary gradient boundary survey of the 116-mile stretch of the Red River between Texas and Oklahoma.

"The committee's vote is another important step in protecting the rights of private landowners along the Red River," Sen. Cruz said. "Texans have a proud history of defending property rights, and this survey will ensure Texas property is identified and protected."

"The survey will finally deliver certainty to families who have rightfully owned land along the Red River for generations that the government has no claim to their property," said Sen. Cornyn. "I look forward to supporting this bill as it comes before the full Senate and working with Congressman Thornberry to see it pass the House."
