Susan Rubio has a long history as a champion for the environment. As Councilwoman, Susan has kept her promise to protect the environment and keep our water clean.

Susan joined the "California Delivers" campaign in 2006 to pass the State's signature climate and Clean Energy Law (AB32). As councilwoman, she successfully pushed for the first environmentally-friendly purchasing policy at City Hall and a tree ordinance to protect the environment and preserve older trees. She also worked with state leaders to bring $1.2 million for local parks and implemented the first official Arbor Day and Earth Day Celebration in the community.

"I led a two-year effort for more open park space in our community," Rubio said. "I live here. My family and friends live here. And I want them to have clean water and air so that they can lead healthy lives."
