Issues: Health and Health Care Drugs
From 1999 to 2016 more than 12,000 North Carolinians died from opioid-related overdoses. This epidemic is devastating families and communities. It is overwhelming medical providers and is straining prevention and treatment efforts. My goal is to bring a voice to the General Assembly for those struggling with mental health & substance abuse issues. We must continue to encourage those who can while at the same time helping others who can't help themselves.
