Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement to commemorate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed every year from September 15 to October 15. Congresswoman Rosen helped introduce a resolution (H.Res. 1068) recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month and the immense contributions of Latinos to the United States.
"As Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off, we are reminded that our diversity and our shared immigrant story is at the heart of what makes our nation great," said Rosen. "Whether it's in business, the arts, education, our military, or public service, Nevada's Hispanic community plays a pivotal role in shaping and defining our diverse state. As we spend the coming weeks celebrating Hispanic traditions and reflecting on the many Hispanic contributions to Nevada's economy and culture, we must all stand strong as allies with the Hispanic community against an agenda that threatens to tear families apart, undermines labor rights, and jeopardizes access to affordable health care and strong public schools. I'll continue fighting to protect hardworking Hispanic families and working to represent their voices in Congress."
