Lujan Statement on Trump Administration Decision to Detain Families Indefinitely

Congressman Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) released the following statement in response to the Trump administration's announcement that they are withdrawing from the Flores Settlement Agreement and will hold children and families in detention facilities indefinitely:

"This latest action by the Trump administration defies America's principles. It will result in life-long consequences for children, including mental health issues like depression, anxiety, developmental delays, and substance use disorder. The Trump administration must be held accountable for their inhumane actions. I'll continue to fight the un-American sentiment that drives these heartless policies."
