Cramer Statement on Drought Levels in Renville, Ward, and Mchenry

Congressman Kevin Cramer issued the following statement on the U.S. Drought Monitor map revealing three North Dakota counties in extreme drought conditions referred to as D3:

"McHenry, Renville, and Ward Counties in North Dakota were recently classified as a D3 region. I encourage agriculture producers in these areas to utilize the Livestock Forage Program (LFP) for assistance as you could be eligible for three payment months."

In June, Cramer held a meeting with U.S. Department of Agriculture Under Secretary for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Service Bill Northey to discuss the challenges associated with last year's drought and the potential reoccurrence of similar issues this year. He continues to closely monitor the situation and encourages producers in those counties to contact their local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office for more information on LFP payments.
