Local education advocate and nonprofit leader Susie Lee released the following statement after the passing of Senator John McCain.

"John McCain embodied the American ideals of public service and courage. I offer my sincere condolences to his family. Our country has lost a true hero who will be remembered by Americans for generations to come."
