U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) issued the following statement in response to President Trump's decision to revoke former Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan's security clearance.

"Let's be clear: the President is punishing his detractors for exercising their First Amendment rights," said Shaheen. "This is a dangerous abuse of power that's undemocratic and un-American. We need more Republicans to be outspoken regarding Donald Trump's denigration of the Presidency."
