Walberg Votes to Improve Water Infrastructure, Strengthen Great Lakes Economy

Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) voted on Wednesday for the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA), a bipartisan bill that provides improvements for ports, locks, ecosystem restoration, and other waterway infrastructure projects critical to Michigan's economic competitiveness. H.R. 8 passed the House by a 408-2 vote.

"This water infrastructure legislation is fundamental for Michigan jobs and the Great Lakes economy," said Congressman Walberg. "Growing our economy and getting Michigan-made products to market hinges on having well-maintained ports throughout our state, including the Port of Monroe. Long-term investments in water infrastructure will help strengthen our transportation network, create good-paying jobs, and benefit all who enjoy and rely on our magnificent Great Lakes."
