Jahana Hayes, an educator and Democratic candidate for Connecticut's 5th Congressional District, today released the following statement on the Supreme Court's Janus v. AFSCME decision:

"Today's SCOTUS decision deals a serious blow to working families across the country. Organized labor has been on the front lines of making sure that working people can make a decent wage and support their families. It's simply unconscionable that someone will now be able to enjoy the benefits of union membership without
contributing to the operations that make it possible in the first place."
