Today, Danny Tarkanian's campaign rejected Susie Lee's proposal - first issued 5 weeks ago - for moderated, televised debates in the race for Nevada's 3rd Congressional District. Instead, Danny, who has a history of hot-tempered clashes with moderators, called for a series of unmoderated "discussions" in lieu of debates.
"Today, Danny Tarkanian rejected our proposal for him to participate in moderated, televised debates," said Lee's campaign manager, Brandon Cox. "Danny, who has a long track record of deceitful and unethical conduct, declined to participate in any debates because he objects to having a moderator. It is unsurprising that someone who plays fast and loose with the facts would want to avoid a moderator, but Nevada voters deserve an honest conversation about the issues.
"Our campaign is more than willing to participate in a moderated town hall-style debate in addition to an in-studio debate, and Danny's rejection of our debate proposal is just phony posturing from a factually-challenged, perennial candidate seeking to avoid accountability for his lies, scandals, and false attacks. When Danny is ready to have a serious conversation about debates instead of a talk radio stunt, we will happily discuss."
