U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement after voting to extend the National Flood Insurance Program, which was set to expire at midnight:

"With the 2018 hurricane season already underway and catastrophic storms from last year like Hurricane Harvey still fresh on our mind, I supported today's effort," said Sen. Cornyn. "It's imperative that we guard against impending national disasters while continuing to hunt for reforms to this program."
