Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21) issued the following statement after Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement.

"I thank Justice Anthony Kennedy for his years of service to our country. Although I have disagreed with many of his positions, I am grateful that he was on the majority side on historic decisions protecting access to legal abortion and advancing human rights.

His retirement gives an opportunity for President Trump and Republicans to appoint another jurist that takes us backwards on women's rights, LGBTQ rights, civil rights, workers' rights and health care for generations to come."
